北京外国语大学个人陈述英文(Exploring the World through Language Learning My Personal Statement fo)
Introduction
From a young age, I’ve been fascinated by different cultures and languages. Growing up in a multicultural family, I was exposed to various languages and customs, which sparked my curiosity for the world beyond my own. I’ve always seen language learning as a tool for building bridges between people and fostering understanding, which is why I am excited to apply to Beijing Foreign Studies University. In this personal statement, I want to share my passion for language learning and explain why I believe BFSU would be the perfect place for me to continue developing my skills.
My Language Learning Journey
I began learning Spanish in high school and was immediately drawn to the language. I found the intricacies of Spanish grammar fascinating, and I loved how the language allowed me to communicate with a whole new group of people. After studying abroad in Spain for a semester, I was hooked on language learning, and I knew I wanted to continue exploring the world through language education. Since then, I have learned French and Mandarin, and I am currently studying Portuguese. I believe learning a language is not just about memorizing vocabulary and grammar rules, but about gaining a deeper understanding of the culture and way of life of the people who speak that language.
Why BFSU?
I am drawn to BFSU because of its reputation as a top language education institution in China. I am especially interested in the university’s programs related to translation and interpretation, as these fields allow me to use my language skills to bridge cultural gaps and communicate across languages. Additionally, I am fascinated by China’s rich history and culture, and I see studying at BFSU as a unique opportunity to immerse myself in Chinese language and culture.
My Future Goals
In the future, I hope to use my language skills to work in international relations, either as a translator, interpreter, or diplomat. I believe that language is key to building strong relationships between nations and that my education from BFSU will prepare me with the skills I need to work in this important field. I am excited to use my language skills to bridge linguistic and cultural divides and to help create a more connected and understanding world.
My Passion for Extracurricular Activities
In addition to my studies, I am passionate about extracurricular activities. I have volunteered as a language tutor for refugees in my hometown and have participated in Model United Nations conferences, where I have had the opportunity to practice my language skills and work collaboratively with people from different backgrounds. At BFSU, I hope to get involved in student organizations and clubs that align with my interests and career goals.
